Very Special Donation to Project Gifts for Elk County

On Sunday afternoon Fr. Chrysostom Schlimm OSB. and his longtime friend Wally Samul stopped by at Project Gifts for Elk County and made a donation of some great toys for our upcoming distribution on Saturday December 12th.

Wally resides in New York City, and has donated to Project Gifts for many years now. Project Gifts wishes to Thank Fr. Chrysostom, and Wally for stopping by!

PGEC American Legion Post 511 Gift Collection

PGEC-Legion-2015Toy Collection season is in full swing, this past Sunday Nov. 8, Project Gifts were presented with a room packed full of toys collected by the American Legion Post 511, coordinator Mr. Jim Steinbiser and his helpers, Cathy his wife and Lana Vendur. Their efforts this year have surpassed all previous years challenges their purchases this year exceeded $10,000 worth of toys The organizations and businesses participating include : American Legion Auxiliary 511, St. Marys Legion Post 103, Dinsmore Welding & Fabrication, Fox Twp. Volunteer Fire Department, Horton Brockway Lioness Club, Fox Twp. Lioness Club, Brockway Army & Navy Club, Suzanne Huey, Rebco Inc., First Chance Inn, Last Chance Inn, Horton Brockway Lions Club, Wilcox American Legion Post 467, Sinter-Fire Inc., Fox Twp. Fireman’s Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion 511, Fox Twp. Lions Club, Central Hose Social Club, Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 720, Kersey Council 6252 Knights of Columbus, Elco Sintered Alloys, American legion Post 511, MJ’s Mini Mart, Protective Fraternal League (PFL), Sally Caskey, Joe Schaberl, Marshall Insurance Services Inc., Reverend Karen Trask, Stoltz Ford, Wal-Mart, Area lubrication, Tyler Huff, Angela Huey Park.

This collection along with the 38 other scheduled collections through the County will enable Project Gifts to complete our mission of helping less fortunate Children at Christmas and other times of need commented Bob Roberts, President, Project Gifts For Elk County.

Bavarian Fall Fest Motorcycle Toy Run

The annual Toy Run will be held during the Bavarian Fall Fest in September. The Toy Run is Saturday, September 19th.

Registration will begin at 2 p.m, the ride starts at 4 p.m. from St. Marys Walmart. Registration is a toy donation for Project Gifts For Elk County. The Toy Run begins at Walmart, to kersey, Ridgway, Johnsonburg and to St. Marys at the Bavarian Fall Fest.

The Moore Brothers will be performing from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Proceeds benefit Project Gifts For Elk County.

Also, the KIDZ ZONE has been moved to the South St. Mary Street Elementary School Gym from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Piedmont Club’s 3rd Annual “Project Gifts For Elk County” Bike Run

The 3rd annual “Project Gifts For Elk County” Bike Run, sponsored by the Piedmont Club of Johnsonburg, will be held on Saturday, September 12th. A pancake Breakfast will be held from 7 to 11 a.m. Sausage and fresh cut fries will be sold beginning at 11 a.m. Registration will be from 9 to 11 a.m.

Registration is $10 or a new toy for Project Gifts For Elk County. “Witch Hazel and Ozone Rangers will provide entertainment. Tattoo vendor, Bob Price and several other vendors will be on hand. There will also be a Chinese Auction.

A Motorcycle Toy Run benefiting Project Gifts will be held on Saturday September 12th at the Piedmont Club in Johnsonburg. For more information please call Dave Rigard at 389-5669.

Another Motorcycle Toy Run will be held on Saturday September 19th starting at Walmart at 2:00 PM and will depart for the ride at 4:00 PM. For more information please contact Alan Solic at 594-8176. This ride will also benefit Project Gifts.
