On Tuesday evening Project Gifts for Elk County held a meeting at their facility on Depot Street. Planning is underway for two events in September.
They discussed a motorcycle run that will be held on Saturday September 6th beginning at the Piedmont Club in Johnsonburg, and a Motorcycle Toy Run that will be held on Saturday September 20th in conjunction with the Bavarian Fall Festival that will start at Wal-Mart. On Monday Night members of The St. Marys Rotary Club and Project Gifts for Elk County visited the Johnsonburg Rotary Club. The event organized by, longtime friend of Project Gifts, Mr. Jim Steinbeiser netted nearly $5600.00 in toys for this year’s giveaway, His challenge to the American legion Fox Post 511, Sons of American Legion, Legion Auxiliary, Fox township Lioness Club, Vietnam Veterans Chapter 720, , Horton Brockway Area Lions Club, , Fox Twps. Fire Department ,Kersey K of C Council 6252, American Legion Post 978, Advantage Metal Powders Employees, Dinsmore Welding, Elk County American Legion, DLS Recovery, Ridgway American Legion Post 208, First Chance Inn, Area Lubrication And Safety, Inc., MJ’s, Elco Sintered, Stoltz Ford, And Bradford Walmart.
This generous donation will go a long way to help Project Gifts accomplish its mission to provide new toys for underprivileged Children at Christmas and other times of crises. We at Project Gifts are very grateful to Jim and all who accepted his challenge.
A reminder to all Parents of Children qualifying, please fill in the request form that was distributed by all local Schools, and return as soon as possible to your local Police Dept., Food Bank or mail to PGEC, P.O Box 102 St. Marys PA 15857 to be included in the giveaway on December 14, in your local community.
On Monday night the Piedmont Club in Johnsonburg made a donation of over $3,000 to Project Gifts for Elk County. The funds plus toys were received during the recent Motorcycle Run that was held on September 7th.
Project Gifts wishes to Thank the Piedmont Club for the donation, and for all the work they put into the Motorcycle Run.
